PLENTY YOUNG ONE'S SHINED IN THE WINDY CITY

USJN Windy City Classic

Waukegan, IL: The second April NCAA spring evaluation period was held this past weekend with many events happening around the country. The USJN Windy City Classic, held in Waukegan, IL, was a prime location for many college coaches, from all levels, looking for potential prospects to one day enhance their programs.

Prime Performers:

Jaddan Simmons 2020 PG Wisconsin Purple Aces 15U
Simmons is a skilled player that does a good job handling the ball, getting to the basket, and finishing through contact. She’s quick with the ball and does a great job finding her open teammates. Jordan is a tough defender! She caused a talented MI Storm Brown team to turn the ball over numerous times and made a few huge plays down the stretch to seal the deal for her squad in a one point win over MI Storm Brown. Simmons showed she can hit the mid-range shot consistently as well.

Lindsey Jarosinski 2018 Post Lady Lightning 17U
Jarosinski is an animal! Over the weekend, she was a rim protector and used her size and strength to score in the low post. Lindsey blocked multiple shots and her presence was known on the block forcing opponents to stay out of the middle!

Anaya Barney 2021 WG Iowa Barnstormers 13U
This kid can light it up from anywhere on the perimeter! Day two of the tournament she used her ball handling skills to blow by her defenders and get to the rim and finish. Also, she shot the ball well in transition and was very aggressive in a 50-43 win against MBA SELECT.

Brianna McDaniel 2022 WG Chicago Hoops Express 13U
McDaniel had a solid weekend for Chicago Hoops Express, using her strength at the guard spot to overwhelm her defenders and score attacking the basket. She has a nice outside shot and used it to her advantage in transition when she was left open.

Nakiyah Hurst 2022 WG Wisconsin Playground Elite 13U-Mcpherson
Hurst was outstanding in a game versus IN Hoosier Premier. Her game is strong and mature beyond her years! Hurst plays as if she’s in high school and was very dominant. Scoring the ball in many ways, she knocked down six triples and penetrated the gaps to score in the middle. Her aggressiveness got her to the free throw line as she showed an impressive swagger. She has many flashy passes in her arsenal, and shifty moves to get to the bucket.
